On a very rainy Friday morning in December, the kids were all dropped off at school and a nervous plan began to unfold ..

Alanna was told "we're going on an adventure!" and she would need to wear a blindfold, and dress warm for the outdoors

Blindfold in place, and fresh coffee in hand, she proceeded to be driven through main roads and backroads alike, to try and throw off any familiar routes to where she might be going

Little did she know, we were on the way back to a place we had been together before.

This place was special, a hike where we walk across bridges together, and where we coined a philosophy we still hold close;

We arrived, and she quickly realized where we ended up!
While charmed, she still thought this was just a daytime adventure to get out in nature and drink our coffee.

It wasn't long before we found ourselves halfway along the trail, just past one of our bridges... when Sean realized that something important was forgotten back at the truck 🫣 but it's not what you think!

Alanna didn't pause or skip a beat, thinking 'oh! okay, well then this way we can drop off our empty coffees in the truck!' and immediately turned heel, and began the walk back across the bridge

We wanted to send a thank you to everyone that helped us celebrate the engagement in the weeks that followed during the winter holidays and gatherings, we love our family and are excited to share this celebration together!

A special note of recognition to our close friend Ryder, for making himself available to brave the elements on that rainy day, to arrive beforehand, position himself amongst the wet forest and patiently await for our arrival.
